“We’re Bernd Große Lordemann, Robert Oeser und Martin Helms. Three musicians from Berlin.” With this laconic way of describing themselves, they can hardly be reproached for being bragging Rock musicians. Whilst other bands like to see themselves as a ‘gang’ who ‘are setting out to change the world’ or the like, Elyjah like to put the emphasis on their music and its sheer individuality: elements they all contribute to equally. They once described their first rehearsal experiences in this way: “ Three musicians come together in a space and music emerges in their midst.” perhaps in its simplicity the most beautiful description of something coming into being, since Kant’s “sum of individual parts”.
